Your Children’s Mercy benefits support your mental health needs and those of your family in multiple ways.

Free short-term counseling and other resources from the EAP

The ComPsych Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to you and your household family members at no charge. This benefit provides each individual up to eight short-term, confidential counseling sessions per issue per plan year. Sessions can be used to address a variety of topics, such as stress, anxiety and depression, job pressures, relationship/marital conflicts and more. ComPsych also offers financial information and resources, legal support, work-life solutions and an online resource for expert information, including articles, tutorials, streaming videos and "Ask the Expert" personal responses to questions. Medical plan coverage

The Children’s Mercy medical plans cover mental and behavioral health services such as counseling and psychiatric care. Contact Cigna, the plan administrator, at (800) 244-6224 or online at www.cigna.com. You can also contact the onsite Cigna representative.

Professional counseling from the Take CARE Employee Clinic

Receive in-person or virtual professional counseling for yourself and your dependents age 18 to 26 who live in Kansas or Missouri. The clinic’s mental health professionals provide counseling for matters such as anxiety, stress, mild depression and family and marital difficulties. Help with parenting from RethinkCare

It's a no-cost, confidential service that helps families raise more resilient children, including those with developmental and learning challenges. RethinkCare’s support focuses on behavioral health and neurodiversity, and it provides consulting and training around neurodiversity support both at home and in the workplace. It includes up to 14 hours of consultation, along with tools and resources to help you and your family members, whether the child is your dependent or not. Funding for mental health and emotional wellbeing activities

For items not covered under medical insurance or other benefits, you can use your Lifestyle Spending Account funds (up to $200 per quarter for full-time and $100 per quarter for part-time team members). This includes items such as meditation classes, retreats and reading materials. Learn more on the Scope.

Support resources from the center for wellbeing

The center offers many resources to support mental health and emotional wellbeing for Children’s Mercy team members, including help when a team member is in crisis. You can reach the center staff 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at (816) 458-3177 (pager). Learn more on the Scope.

Resources to build and maintain wellbeing

Personify Health, is our wellbeing partner. The Personify Health platform offers a variety of tools, resources and healthy activities, including self-guided courses, coaching support, and individual and team challenges to improve your health and wellbeing. All team members and covered spouses are eligible to participate and earn wellbeing points. For enrolled team members and spouses the points translate into dollars for their Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and Health Savings Account (HSA). Points earned by non-enrolled team members translate to gift cards. Activities and points are tracked in the Personify Health platform.
